π½οΈ About Agriturismo Santo Stefano in Rivo Maris
Tucked away in the countryside just outside Casalbordino, Agriturismo Santo Stefano in Rivo Maris is one of those magical places that perfectly captures the soul of Abruzzo’s farm-to-table tradition. This working agriturismo combines rustic charm with exceptional cuisine, offering visitors an authentic taste of rural Italian life that’s becoming increasingly rare to find.
The menu here celebrates the bounty of both land and sea, featuring dishes crafted from ingredients grown right on the property or sourced from nearby farms and the Adriatic coast. Their handmade pasta is absolutely sublime – try the tagliatelle al ragΓΉ di agnello, where tender local lamb is slow-cooked to perfection. The arrosticini, Abruzzo’s famous grilled lamb skewers, are a must-order, perfectly seasoned and cooked over an open flame that fills the air with incredible aromas.
The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between refined and comfortable that Italians do so well. Stone walls and exposed wooden beams create warmth, while large windows flood the dining rooms with natural light overlooking rolling vineyards and olive groves. During warmer months, the outdoor terrace becomes the place to be, where you can dine under the stars with views stretching toward the distant Adriatic.
This is where I bring visitors who want to experience the real Abruzzo – not touristy, just genuinely excellent food served by people who clearly love what they do. It’s about a 15-minute drive from Vasto, but trust me, the journey through the countryside is half the charm. Reservations are definitely recommended, especially for weekend dinners when local families gather for their weekly celebration.

I don't know about the rooms, but the restaurant is amazing: abundant and delicious food from the local cuisine tradition.
Warm welcome from this family business, which they have ran for decades. Six courses of good, handmade and stunningly presented food, with as much wine and liqueur as you could drink, really hit the mark. Highly recommend if you want the best food and drink there is out there for a cheap price.
Very authentic experience with super italian food and wine included if asked for dinner option.
