π½οΈ About Osteria dei Miracoli
Just a short drive from Vasto, Osteria dei Miracoli sits quietly in Casalbordino like a well-kept family secret. This unassuming spot has been serving honest Abruzzese cuisine for years, earning its reputation through word-of-mouth rather than flashy marketing. The restaurant embodies that wonderful Italian philosophy where good food speaks louder than fancy facades.
The menu here is deeply rooted in regional tradition, showcasing the robust flavors of Abruzzo’s mountainous interior. You’ll find handmade pasta dishes that have been passed down through generations, alongside locally-sourced meats and seasonal vegetables. The kitchen takes particular pride in their arrosticini – those iconic Abruzzese lamb skewers – and their homemade gnocchi that practically melts in your mouth. Everything feels authentic and unpretentious, exactly what you hope to find in small-town Italy.
The interior has that lived-in charm of a true neighborhood osteria, with wooden tables that have hosted countless family celebrations and walls adorned with local memorabilia. It’s the kind of place where regulars have their usual spots and the staff remembers how you like your coffee. The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial, perfect for lingering over a meal with good conversation flowing as freely as the wine.
While it requires a brief detour from Vasto, Osteria dei Miracoli offers something you can’t find in the more tourist-focused coastal restaurants – genuine local flavor without the markup. It’s ideal for travelers who want to experience how Italians actually eat when they’re not performing for visitors. Come hungry, come curious, and prepare to discover why sometimes the best meals happen in the most unexpected places.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious (as evidenced by the fact that I stopped taking photos once my appetizer arrived!). I had a ricotta ravioli with black truffles which was very enjoyable. There was a good ...
What's miraculous is that this place stays in business. Two hours and change for a round of gnocchi, and they forgot my son's order of ravioli.
Doesn't look much from the outside but the food and wine was lovely, bit noisy if you eat outside (right next to a road) but it was a lovely day and didn't want to be indoors, staff lovely and it wasn't too expensive
