π½οΈ About La Risacca
Tucked away in the countryside of Petacciato, La Risacca offers a refreshing escape from the typical tourist trail. This charming restaurant sits in the peaceful Contrada Valle San Giovanni, where rolling hills meet authentic Italian hospitality. While it requires a short drive from Vasto’s center, the journey rewards you with genuine local flavors and a dining experience that feels wonderfully removed from the crowds.
The kitchen at La Risacca celebrates both land and sea, drawing from Molise’s rich culinary traditions. Their seafood preparations shine particularly bright, featuring fresh catches from the nearby Adriatic prepared with simple, time-honored techniques. The pasta dishes showcase house-made noodles paired with seasonal ingredients, while their meat offerings highlight the region’s pastoral heritage. Each plate arrives with the kind of honest flavors that make you understand why Italians are so passionate about their food.
The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between rustic charm and comfortable dining. Warm lighting illuminates simple wooden tables, while local artwork adds personality to the walls. During pleasant weather, the outdoor seating lets you soak in the tranquil countryside setting. Service feels genuinely welcoming rather than performative β the staff treats you like a neighbor who’s stopped by for dinner.
For American visitors seeking authentic Italian dining away from tourist hotspots, La Risacca delivers exactly what you’re hoping to find. Yes, you’ll need to venture beyond Vasto’s immediate center, but that journey becomes part of the experience. This is where you’ll create those memorable Italian dining moments that you’ll still be talking about years later.

Really bad and unfriendly service. We asked for an ash tray they made us wait for 10 minutes and then told us to leave the cigarettes inside the plates!!! Prices too high, 3 euro for a mediocre coffee: should be illegal in Italy. Nice location, too.
Service slow and not kind. Food so/so.... (Was last year a lot better, this year a dissater)
